Coachella is a production marvel. The stages, the art, the sheer scale of it — there is nothing that looks like Coachella. The headliners are consistently massive and the production values are the highest in the game. The problems are real though: the value equation is brutal, the crowd skews more toward being seen than hearing music, and the heat is punishing. Come for the spectacle, manage your expectations on the communal experience.
01Stages & Lineup
Six main stages spread across the Empire Polo Club grounds, plus secret weapons most first-timers miss entirely.
Coachella Stage
The big outdoor main stage where headliners play. Sabrina Carpenter (Friday), Justin Bieber (Saturday), Karol G (Sunday) — the first Latina headliner in Coachella history. This is the 25th anniversary edition.
Outdoor Theatre
The second-largest stage, positioned so you can hear it from the Indio Central Market food area. Notable 2026 acts include The Strokes, Disclosure, Iggy Pop, and David Byrne.
Sahara Tent
The massive EDM tent. Armin van Buuren b2b Adam Beyer is the marquee electronic set here. The production inside is world-class — visuals, lasers, and sound that hits different than the outdoor stages.
Mojave
Mid-sized tent for indie, alternative, and crossover acts. Turnstile and Laufey play here in 2026. The crowd energy in Mojave is consistently the best of any tent.
Gobi
The discovery tent. Smaller, more intimate, and where you find artists you've never heard of who become lifelong favourites. The XX play Gobi in 2026.
Do Lab
A separate zone that runs surprise daytime sets not on the main schedule. Misting, shade, water features, and a dedicated sound system. The sets are announced day-of on Reddit and Twitter.
Yuma Tent
Underground electronic music with a dedicated following. Air-conditioned. Intimate. Dark. The antithesis of the Sahara — this is for the heads.
Sonora
The newest tent addition, focused on emerging and Latin artists. Nine Inch Noize (NIN + Boys Noize collaborative set) is the underground pick of the weekend.
Quasar Stage
Introduced in 2024, the Quasar Stage adds another dimension to the Coachella experience — focused on genre-crossing electronic and live acts in a dedicated space.
02After Shows & Nightlife
Coachella doesn't have an official after-show circuit the way Jazz Fest does, but Palm Springs comes alive both weekends.
Campground Scene
If you're camping, the campground itself runs silent discos and impromptu parties well past midnight. Some of the best Coachella memories happen back at camp, not at the stages.

Palm Springs Nightlife
Palm Springs has bars and venues that come alive during Coachella weekends. Check Do Lab's official socials for any off-site events. The Indio area has limited late-night options — most veterans stay on-site or head to Palm Springs.

03Getting There
Empire Polo Club, 81-800 Ave 51, Indio, CA — about 130 miles from LA, approximately 150 miles from San Diego.
🚗 Driving from LA
Leave before 7am or go the night before. The I-10 to Indio on Coachella mornings can turn a 2.5 hour drive into 5+ hours. Free general parking on site.
🚌 Official Shuttles
Shuttle passes run from Palm Springs, Palm Desert, and several hotels. Worth it if you're not driving or camping.
🛒 Supplies
The Indio Walmart runs low on supplies by Weekend 2 so stock up before you arrive. AXS Official Resale is the only platform Coachella endorses — Weekend 2 typically has more last-minute availability than Weekend 1.
04Food & Drink
Over 100 food options on the grounds — this is not a standard festival food situation.
Indio Central Market
The main food area for GA. Shaded, seats available, and you can hear the Outdoor Theatre while you eat. This is where you refuel without missing music.
Budget Strategy
Budget $15-25 per meal, more for drinks. Eat off-schedule (before noon or after 8pm) to avoid lines. The food quality is genuinely good here — better than most festivals.
In-N-Out Post-Fest Run
In-N-Out has locations in Indio and La Quinta. The post-fest late night run is a Coachella tradition. Animal style, ask for chopped chillies.
Eat before noon or after 8pm. The 1-3pm lunch rush is brutal at every food stall. Bring snacks from your car or campsite for the midday gap.

Camp in a small tent and discover someone new. This is peak Coachella — the set you stumble into that changes your whole weekend.

The heat peaks between 1-3pm. The Do Lab has misting, shade, and surprise sets. The Yuma Tent has air conditioning. Use them.
