About Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC)
Electric Daisy Carnival is the flagship of electronic dance music, drawing 170,000 people nightly to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for its 30th anniversary. Eight stages with world-class production — lasers, pyrotechnics, and LED installations that dwarf anything else in the genre. The festival runs dusk to dawn (7 PM to 5:30 AM), making it a true nocturnal experience. The car camping community and the free World Party Parade on the Strip add layers beyond the music.

Nothing prepares you for the first time the kineticFIELD comes into view. It is an LED production structure the size of a small city block rising out of the Nevada desert at night — you literally go quiet when you see it. EDC is not a music festival with production. The production IS the festival. Plan your first night around just experiencing the scale of it before you try to optimize your schedule.
The official shuttle is the move. The Las Vegas Motor Speedway is 15 miles north of the Strip — not far, but on festival nights the roads are gridlocked and rideshare surge pricing can hit $150+ each way with 45-minute waits. The shuttle drops you directly at the festival entrance. Premier Shuttle gets you reserved departure times, security pre-check, and expedited entry. Know your lot number before you leave the hotel. Fill your hydration pack at the water stations BEFORE boarding — the ride is about 50 minutes.
EDC runs dusk to dawn — gates open around sunset, music runs until 5:30am. Mid-May Las Vegas hits 100°F during the day but cools dramatically after midnight. You will arrive sweating and leave in a light jacket. Bring layers. A portable fan is not optional — it's survival. Hydration pack empty at entry, fill it inside at the free water stations. Sunscreen for the walk in from the shuttle. Saline spray for your sinuses — the desert dust is real.
Let your ears guide your feet between sets. Part of the magic of EDC is the discovery — walking the outer lanes between stages and stumbling into an art car set you didn't plan for. The art cars are scattered across the festival avenues and host some of the most intimate and memorable sets of the weekend. Use the stage genre map as a general guide: trance at quantumVALLEY, techno at neonGARDEN, hardstyle at wasteLAND, bass at bassPOD. kineticFIELD is for everyone.
Camp EDC is a festival within the festival. Campers get a dedicated entrance and are typically inside in 15 minutes versus the 45 minutes to 3+ hours shuttle riders deal with. Camp EDC has its own daytime pool parties, yoga sessions, wellness activities, food vendors, and art — it runs all day while the main festival runs all night. If you're doing Camp EDC with a tent, know that the desert heat is brutal on the ShiftPod ACs — veterans strongly recommend RV camping for this reason. Camp EDC sells faster than main passes — check availability early.
This is EDC's 30th anniversary — the kineticJOURNEY theme. 2026 headliners: Martin Garrix, Tiësto, Charlotte de Witte, FISHER, Armin van Buuren, John Summit, Zedd, Porter Robinson, Chris Lake, Kaskade, The Chainsmokers, Above & Beyond. The neonGARDEN is hosting two full nights from Time Warp and Factory 93 with Peggy Gou, Joseph Capriati, and Indira Paganotto — Resident Advisor called it one of the most committed underground techno lineups EDC has ever assembled. EDC Week kicks off Thursday May 14 with a free World Party Parade on the Las Vegas Strip at 6pm — new for 2026 and a proper way to start the weekend.
